Chloe
As you may or may not know, I’m friends with Missy and Sean, the co-founders of the Suicide Girls and creators of suicidegirls.com. Before you read any further, I want to warn you that there is nudity on the home page. So, if you’re under the age of 18, do not log in to that site. Okay, I said it for the record. Anyway, the Suicide Girls is a social community of goth, glam, punk rock, delicious American royalty. They are a group of 2000 strong international women who aren’t afraid to express themselves verbally, socially, or physically for that matter. Yes, the bread and butter of the site is nudity, but Missy and Sean have done an amazing job of making sure the site has always maintained a level of class. I applaud them for that. Just seven years ago, the site started out much like ours – with a community of a couple hundred. Now, they have over 250,000 members all around the world. It truly is a modern day phenomenon.
Missy Suicide, as you know by now, shot the Sqweegel image on the cover of Level 26. We shot that about a year ago in my hotel room. Out of 11,000 plus pictures, this one image has withstood the test of time. It is the single photograph that encapsulates the embodiment of the villain. In the shot, Sqweegel has his back turned to the camera and is unzipping his murder suit. Slowly and stealthily. In a few weeks, we are renting a hotel room in downtown L.A. and doing an exclusive “Sqweegel” multi-set with two Suicide Girls. The unofficial selections are Chloe and Coley. That’s all I can tell you right now. As of this moment, we plan on shooting a very noir (black and white) set with Chloe coming out of the white latex murder suit while Coley is shown slain in a bathtub. Of course, the hotel will have no idea we are shooting there. They would frown upon such a thing, but the end result should be a treat for that community. Our hope is that the readers of that site give level26.com a try and vice versa.

The selection process of the women happened in a hotel room at Comic-Con. Sean and I held an “audition pizza party” for the women and asked them to try on the suit. It was all done very respectfully. One by one, the women undressed in the bathroom and came out fully dressed as Sqweegel. I have to say I was pretty nervous about the women trying on the suit because it cost $3000. It was custom made for Daniel Browning Smith for the Dark Origins shoot. As luck would have it, Chloe was the first one to try the suit on. She took her clothes off very quickly and wriggled into the suit with ease. Chloe has a generous bust, so I was worried that she might not be able to pull it off. She ended up doing quite well. She emerged from the bathroom, mask and all, and sauntered into the room. She even did a couple of “hissing” noises that scared a few of the women half to death. Chloe was the one to beat. Woman after woman tried on the suit made for a 135 lb. man standing at 5’8. Since it was custom made out of latex, the suit was unforgiving. Some women couldn’t even get it on. Others had “latex-rippled butt” as we called it. There I was, standing in the middle of a hotel room, with 20 gorgeous Suicide Girls who tried the suit on just for fun. It was very innocent and business-like. It felt good to hang in that social circle because the Suicide Girls aren’t the kind of women who spend time with strangers or Hollywood types often. I, thankfully, have a profound trust with the women because we had them on CSI: NY a few years ago in an episode entitled “Oedipus Hex” They all played themselves and it was one of our highest rated episodes (18-45) ever in the history of the show. Not to mention, they had a great time and it was one of the first times the brand was exposed commercially. Great fun!
Missy Suicide, who’s close to having her second child, will be called upon to do all of the photography. She is very gifted and is a close friend. I invite you all to check out the “Sqweegel” multi-set on September 8th. It should be scary, smoldering, and sexy all at the same time. And given the overwhelming response to how “hot” Steve Dark is, I figured we should offer the men on the site something to enjoy. All’s fair in love and war and sex, right? Stay tuned!
Thanks for all of the love and passion for the photo set. My wife is Art Directing. This could be fun!
Night Wanderer, hold it together! :)
haha Night Wanderer. You are a hoot n a half.
AZ is seriously the best blogger around. I check this site multiple times a day hoping for a new post. Keep 'em coming! Love the honesty, insight, and brilliant writing style.
NW, you hit the nail right on the head- this is going to be beyond awesome!! I'm so excited about the involvement of SG on this project! *googly eyes for SG*
As NW said- this just keeps getting better and better!
I can't wait. Keep it up AZ! This is going to be a great ride for the next 3 years!
I can't wait! I am so pleased you guys are all as excited as we are about this collaboration.
So nice to see you here Missy!! And I know as much as AZ had mentioned that this is for the guys- the SG are so important to women, giving us the message to be confident in our own skin, and never be afraid to express ourselves! So, with that, I think this is just as much as an exciting collaboration for us gals as it is for the boys!! :)
I'm glad I can make you all smile (honestly, I don't try to be funny it just sorta happens).
AZ, I'll do my best!!
Missy- Can I just say that it is such an honor to see you on the site?!?! I am truly amazed at all the artists and collaborators from this project stopping in to give us feedback and love. If you would have told me a site like this existed a few months ago, I think I would have laughed and said yeah right. Thank you for proving me wrong!!!
