All Deputies participating in the contest would create a Facebook account and/or a "Page" for their team (such as the ones I made in the links below).
The Contest Idea:All Deputies participating in the contest would make an "iReport" type video announcing their Sqweegel Sighting by using a copy of the Level 26:Dark Origins book or iPhone/iPod app (or print a picture from Level 26). (see example of video in links below). They would go to one of their state/country's landmarks for the filming location (places such as the state capitol building, a sporting event stadium, famous buildings, statues, monuments, or even just a state's "Welcome" sign but something that signifies their location, etc). Upload their iReporter video to the Facebook team page & follow the Sqweegel Sightings on the "Where I've Been" map app in the sidebar! (Deputies must add the map app and update the Sqweegel Sightings themselves as Fans of the page cannot make updates to the "Where I've Been" map app - see screenshots below).
Deputies would then try to get as many RECRUITS from as many different locations as possible to upload an iReporter video at a local landmark. The Deputies would need to get creative as to how they can spread the word of Level 26 and recruit new members and get them to create & upload the iReporter videos. The contest should run from at least Friday – Wednesday or Thursday so recruits have enough time to find/plan/go to a landmark and record/upload their videos (deadline on a Thursday so the next Deputy contest would start the next day). The Deputy 'winners' would be determined by the number of Sqweegel Sighting videos and number of states/countries that Sqweegel was 'spotted' in. (The Deputy with the most recruited iReporter videos/most countries wins 1st place, 2nd most uploads/countries wins 2nd place, etc etc). The entries can be tallied by TIME STAMP (to ensure only entries posted before the deadline are counted) and this should make it easily measurable, as well as using the information from the "Where I've Been" map app. The more states/countries that have "Sqweegel Sightings", the more promotion Level 26 gets, which is bound to increase Level 26 book/app sales and bring in new curious and excited members!
Ok, I know that just sounded like a LOT, but it's really as easy as 1, 2, 3!
#1 - Deputies create Team FB account/page & upload their own Sqweegel Sighting video#2 - Deputies recruit others all around the world to upload a Sqweegel Sighting video
#3 - Deputies map Sqweegel Sightings as recruits upload their videos and describe the location!Confused? See what mine looks like!

Okay people... Christmas is upon us so in keeping with the season my design a contest submission has a Yuletide theme...
My proposition is this...
Design a uniquely level 26 Christmas card... Twitter it, facebook it, myspace it, print it, snail mail it and email it to all of your friends... make it fun, festive, and diabolically Sqweegish! Make sure that somewhere on the card it has the level26 website listed, perhaps a photo of the book, urge your friends and family to buy the book, read the book, join the site and give you as a reference – have them join and friend you and note that this is because of your card... collect the names and give the list to AZ or whomever wants to take responsibility for the count.! Make it a musical card. Make it a Powerpoint presentation, or just a standard but twisted hallmark style card! Spread the love of the season...
Special thanks to my team mate... Linda! For her help with the wording!

"Where in the World is Level 26"
Like Sqweegel and Anthony Z, Level 26 gets around. So for the next contest, tell me and show me where in the world are you with Level 26? You will take a picture of yourself holding the book while wearing the shirt or holding whatever merchandise that promotes Level 26. The more bizzare the location and photo, the better. Don't just think community, get outside the box like Sqweegel and show me - WHERE IN THE WORLD IS LEVEL26.
The task I propose is this:
* Pick a crime or event from Level 26 and write it as if you are a reporter who is investigating the crime.
* Be aware that you are writing from a perspective that you are IN the book so nothing only information that is public or could be found out through investigative means (i.e. nothing "top secret") should be used
* Article must be between 300-500 words and should use one image from the white album that you believe represents your story the best.
It may seem that these articles would not bring a larger audience to the site, however that is not the case. It will give new readers a taste of what happens in the book without too many spoilers. Also, if desired they could also be used in promotional ways to gain interest in the book via other sites. For example, if someone puts the article on their personal site with links back to Level26.com it has the possibility of increasing site traffic. The most important thing would be to give the reader the feeling that they are reading an article from inside the Level 26 world, making them want to know more about the story.
"Our contest is geared to the 15,000+ members on Level26.com who are currently not active. This contest will get those members navigating around the website by posting a link to the rules of the contest in those parts of the site they go to, such as the cyberbridge discussions. If we can get them involved, they will bring more new members to the site. Most of the members who are currently active, have exhausted most of their personal resources for new members. Therefore, we need to look to those inactive members and get them involved. Created by, GeZGirl and Tourist"
